Taxpayers can make a charitable contribution on their state income tax form to support land conservation in Georgia.
Conservation-minded Georgians can help preserve our state's natural resources by donating to the Georgia Land Conservation Program (GLCP) when completing their state income tax form—line 29 on Georgia Form 500 or line 13 on Georgia Form 500EZ. After entering a donation amount, it will be subtracted from your tax refund or added to your tax payment. The Georgia Department of Revenue will transfer your contribution to the GLCP. Contributions are deductible the following tax year.
The contributions help the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Georgia Forestry Commission, and the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission conserve land through conservation easements or property title transfers from landowners. The GLCP has protected more than 39,000 acres of natural, agricultural, and historical lands with state income tax form proceeds.
